Tribal animals are highly prized and their owners enjoy decorating them in various ways. The length of this semi-antique piece makes it a sure thing to have been used on a camel. The 'plain' section would have been placed in the neck area with the long, decorated parts on either side of the animal. It is interesting that the design changes slightly about halfway down each 'arm' of the weaving. All the decorative work is done using wool, including the tassles and braids.
