The 'Gabbeh'  was a relatively little known type of Oriental Rug in The West until about 30 years ago although, it was made by Tribal and Village weavers for many generations in Iran ( Persia). This Gabbeh has a completely abstract  color pattern to the central field with a soft gold the predominant color. Overlaid with a gold lattice design and framed by a gold border this is a very handsome piece. Lustrous hand-spun Ghazni wool for the pile with natural dyes providing the rich colors. The high sheen of the pile makes photos quite a challenge!!
